Innovation at Schneider Electric
Introducing a framework for innovation called OLM.
Challenge
Schneider Electric has developed a framework for innovation called OLM. They asked us to create an engaging e-learning experience that would teach employees in Research & Development (R&D) the basics of this framework. The learning experience had to be fully accessible (WCAG 2.2), diverse and inclusive. It also had to be easy to understand for anyone, because it’s an introductory training.
Development
We developed one general e-learning module (45 minutes) and five deep-dive modules about specific topics (20 minutes each). We mixed AI-video with live-action video in an overarching storyline to retain maximum engagement. About 80% of the training is AI-generated video and audio, while the remaining 20% of video was shot with two smartphones on a gimbal to minimize costs.
Solution
In our training, learners touch are transported into the home of an Artificial Intelligence called Aimy. Aimy’s home (a light bulb) is modeled after Schneider Electric’s new innovation framework. Learners need to gather enough knowledge about each room to turn the power back on and return home. After development in English, we translated the training into French, German, Chinese and Spanish.
★★★★★
“I loved it and I have a lot of fun! […] The flow is easy to follow, the look and feel is outstanding, the quality of the production is top notch, and it all comes together for a very pleasant and engaging experience.”
— Blanca Garza
★★★★★
“The “Avatar” is so well done that it can easily be unnoticed that it is an AI construction.”
— Olivier Toffin
Let’s make mental lemonade!
We turn expertise into online learning-experiences that feel fresh, unique and engaging. We use the latest teaching techniques and technologies and cater to any budget.
Special mentions
We developed this project in collaboration with dedicated reviewers from Schneider Electric and video producers from Holland Park Media. We want to specifically thank Blanca Garcia from Schneider Electric for her dedication to this project and continued positivity despite some setbacks outside of our control. We are super proud of the end result, pioneering a story-driven e-learning solution with AI-video!
